Why We Don't Stock Hair Extensions

In today's world, hair extensions have gained immense popularity and have become a staple for many individuals looking to enhance their hairstyles. While it may seem like a no-brainer for us to stock hair extensions, there are several factors that make it almost impossible too. In this blog post, we delve into the reasons why we do not to stock Hair Extensions and why this is of benefit to our client:

Personalisation

Hair Extensions require a unique set of skills, knowledge, and expertise to ensure a seamless and natural-looking application. The availability of various types (we work with 27 different types), lengths (12 – 30inch), colours (50+ and mixes), weights (30g – 200g+) and textures (9 curl profiles) makes it difficult (and costly) to stock every option. This will mean only limited variations can be in stock – therefore the client will get a ‘close’ result…not an exact match. We pride ourselves on our bespoke consultation and ordering process where we order exactly what you need…meaning ultimate matching.

Processing Reduction

Salons that stock hair, generally spend a lot of time altering the colour of the extensions to suit the client’s natural hair (at your expense). This means additional chemical processing to the hair extensions which ultimately shortens their lifespan and, if done incorrectly, can damage the extensions. We do not dye or reprocess the hair extensions.

Lowest Price / Highest Quality

Maintaining high-quality standards is crucial for any business. We have cut out the middleman and go directly to our factory to order our personalised Hair Extensions. This cuts the price down and ensures best quality. Our extensions are fully tested at every part of the production process.

Limited Shelf Life and Inventory Management

Unlike traditional salon products such as shampoos or styling tools, hair extensions have a limited shelf life. Stock left in plastic packing can lose its colour, particularly in direct sunlight. Keratin bonds can breakdown over time and become ‘loose’ and Tape dries out.

Client Consultation and Customization

Hair extensions are not a one-size-fits-all solution. Each client has unique hair characteristics, such as texture, color, thickness and lifestlye that needs to be considered for a seamless integration. Stocking hair extensions would require us to invest in a wide range of products to cater to different client needs. With stock hair, customization becomes more challenging with limited options, potentially leading to subpar results.

Final Thoughts

The downside to fully personalised Hair Extensions is the timeframe it takes to make and deliver (2 – 3 Weeks) as they cannot be immediately installed, however Hair Extensions are an investment in time and money and it is important to ensure you get the best result. We do this by providing fully customised Hair Extensions for our clients rather than ‘Stock’ products and, from experience, believe this is the best offering to our clients ♥
