Tape Hair Extensions

Are you ready to take your hair to the next level?

Tape hair extensions are a popular method of hair extension. They are slightly quicker to apply and remove than the individual strand methods (Nano, Micro, Fushion etc) so are great for clients who don't want to be in the chair for 2 - 3 hours.
The Tape application is one of the latest hair extension application techniques and is a semi-permanent method. They are applied using double or single-sided tape wefts. With double-sided tape, the weft sandwiches the hair.
We provide 2 different Tape options – Normal Tape Extensions and Invisible Tape Extensions. See below the FAQ explaining the difference.
How well they stay in depends on how well they are cared for. For fine hair, we recommend a refit at around 6 weeks. Normal or Dense hair can get away with up to 8 weeks.
It is important to use the correct shampoo to maintain the bond and avoid applying oils at the root to maintain longevity and stop the hair slipping out.
This application is good for thin hair.
Re-fitting: 6 - 8 weeks

Have thicker hair? Check out the Weft or Micro methods.
Have naturally oily Hair? Check out the Weft Method.

Let’s be honest. Tape-in extensions can damage your hair just like any human hair extensions out there if not installed, removed, and cared for properly.
It does not mean that it will damage your hair for sure, but the possibility is always there if no proper care is done. It is important to follow the aftercare instructions to a tee.

Tape hair extension should last between 9 to 12 months, with regular maintenance appointments every 4 - 6 weeks.
This regularity will reduce matting of the natural hair.

Normal tapes have a plastic shiny bond at the top, therefore are a little more noticeable if there is a part in the hairf.
The hair on invisible tapes covers the bond section, so less noticeable. Invisible tapes are more expensive.

It is important that any glue residue is removed from your natural hair and from the Hair extension. Having 2 separate sessions allows you to wash your hair with cleansing shampoo to remove any remnants left from the removal session.
Also, it gives our extensionists time to thoroughly wash and remove any glue residue from the extension and re-apply the tape.
Removal and refit can be completed in the same session, however full removal of old glue cannot be guaranteed (as washing of your hair and the extension isn’t possible), thus there is a higher risk of the bond becoming unstuck (this would be a risk agreed to by the client).

The glue used for tape extensions (although of medical grade) degrades quicker than other methods. Therefore, maintenance is required sooner.

Don’t fret! Unlike other methods, Tape extensions can be changed into individual strand methods (Micro to be precise).
We offer a Re-tipping service for this. Please note, you will lose 1cm of hair in the process of changing Tape extensions to Micro Extensions.
